Dynamically balancing a rotor

Assembly

The TRI Manufacturing team has valuable experience in disassembling, inspecting, repairing and assembling complex equipment. Typical machinery is variable-speed fluid drives, hydraulic couplings, turbine-generator gearboxes and lube oil systems.

Indoor assembly areas can accommodate equipment up to a maximum of 16 feet wide and 15 feet high. A balancing machine and a test stand support the TRI Assembly Department.

Dynamic Balancing

The Schenk-Trebel balance machine has a direct drive. It can handle rotors weighing up to 20,000 lbs. The maximum length between balancing planes is 6 ft. Dynamic balancing and static balancing can be performed at speeds up to 800 rpm.

Testing

The test stand is driven by a 50 hp motor with a variable frequency speed control. The test stand has been used for such jobs as: monitoring running clearances and oil system leak detection. The drive coupling for the test stand can be customized to suit your application
